[NEWS] Poetic Japanese Calligraphy Art in Japandi Slow Fashion

Love to introduce you to the launch of DENMEG, a sustainable slow-fashion shop for Wearable Heritage Art!

It’s a UK + Japan collaboration that brings Japanese calligraphy art by Denmeg (my mother), in her seventies, with a fifty-year journey as a professional heritage artist, into the world.

(Anyone can start anything at any age, so please hold on to your dream.)

With art created in Japan and sustainable fashion produced in the UK, we’ve created a slow fashion brand, DENMEG, where you can find wearable wabi-sabi Japanese calligraphy art.

Each Japanese calligraphy artwork piece by Denmeg has its own story, including Tanka, a short, traditionally structured Japanese poem similar to Haiku, so every garment carries a unique and tranquil story and meaning that encourages you, whatever stage of life you’re at.

It’s like a calming companion, softly there right next to you.

And especially for those who have lived alone for years, it will be there, speaking to you ever so gently.

Her original Japanese calligraphy is transferred onto sustainable materials: organic cotton, recycled cotton, and plant-based ink.
The materials were also chosen carefully, so each piece can be a long-term companion. All orders are shipped from the UK.

There is also a video about the journey of DENMEG, and I hope you’ll enjoy it too! Watch here.

Please visit Denmeg.com. Just looking is fun too, and I hope you will enjoy the visit.

If there’s a design or item you’d like to see in the shop, please feel free to send us a message.

Thank you so much for being on the journey!

Have a wonderful day.
